Product Warranty

GEOTRON SYSTEMS

Every GEOTRON instrument sold is covered by the following warranty:

GEOTRON warrants that the instruments manufactured by it shall be free from defects in workmanship and materials other that vacuum tubes, semi-conductors, batteries and fuses for a period of TWELVE MONTHS from date of shipment, provided that the instrument have been used as prescribed in the instruction manual and not subjected to abuse. Warranties of vacuum tubes and semi-conductors, as
made by their manufacturers, will be extended to the purchaser only to the extent of the manufacturer’s liability to GEOTRON. Specially selected vacuum tubes and semi-conductors cannot be warranted Repairs or replacement, at Geotron’s option, will be made without charge to the purchaser at the GEOTRON factory during the warranty period. Such warranty is further conditional upon the purchaser
giving prompt notice of any such defect and satisfactory proof thereof to GEOTRON. Thereafter, upon GEOTRON’s approval, the purchaser shall return such defective instrument to GEOTRON’s factory, all transportation charges pre-paid. Transportation Charges to return the repaired equipment will be for the purchaser’s account. Al customs, brokerage and duty charges shall be at the expense of the purchaser.
Any repairs or replacements by the purchaser without GEOTRON’s approval, any willful abuse or any evidence that the instrument was not properly used and maintained, would automatically void this warranty. Damages during shipment or an accident are excluded from the warranty. GEOTRON reserves the right to modify the design of its instruments without incurring responsibility for modification of previously manufactured instruments.

sHIPPING DAMAGE

Every GEOTRON instrument must pass a stringent set of quality control tests before being approved for shipment. Permanent records of these tests are maintained to reveal any flaws in workmanship and
materials. It is possible for damage to occur in transit. GEOTRON is not responsible for such damage. Instruments should be examined upon receipt for evidence of external or concealed damage caused by shipping. If damage is found, immediately notify GEOTRON and the carrier making delivery, since the carrier is normally liable for damage in shipment. Carefully preserve all documents in order to establish claims. GEOTRON will provide all possible assistance in damage claims and in providing replacement equipment if necessary.

REPAIR SERVICE

GEOTRON instruments no longer under warranty may be returned, freight prepaid, to GEOTRON for repairs and check-out at modest expense and the least possible delay to the purchaser. Al instruments
thus repaired will pass through the same pre-shipment quality control tests at those used for new instruments. The instrument will meet or surpass its original specifications when returned. Return shipping expenses will be charged to the purchaser. There will be no charge for repairs which fall within the warranty. Damage in transit or damage resulting form misuse or accident will be repaired at the purchaser’s expense.
