Geotron (Chemtron prior to 1987 was formed in 1971) is a consultancy, manufacturer and supplier of geophysical equipment and has been supplying and servicing the industry for over 40 years.  The commitment to design, service & a dedicated team, has ensured a successful partnership and Geotron becoming one of the major geophysical instrumentation companies in the Southern Hemisphere. Geotron adheres strictly to the South African Business Code of Ethics as outlined in the King Report (King III). To date, Geotron has manufactured over 1,200 magnetometers ranging from the G1 in 1973 to the G5 of which > 800 have been built.  > 500 resistivity meters have also been built of which the present G41 model comprises the largest number.  More than 100 Borehole loggers have also been built in this time including many specialized instruments such as EM and Radiometric systems.  The client base consists mainly of exploration companies such as Anglo American, de Beers (> 90 magnetometers), Diamond Corp, BHP Billiton, Exxaro, Parastatals such as CSIR, ARC, DWA and almost all government Water Affairs Department in Africa uses our equipment.
